iPhone Lifeproof Cases

Apple’s new iPhone have a high level of water dust and resistance, but they still made from glass panels Apple warranty does not cover damage. LifeProof has four options in their case range that will enhance the level of protection your iPhone has: Fre, Next, Slam, Flip.

LifeProof Fre has an integrated front-screen protector and has more seals that provides waterproof protection of up to two meters depth for an hour.

LifeProof Next Series case is the company’s mid-level model in their LifeProof range. The Next cases are designed to be dropproof, dirtproof, and snowproof. The LifeProof Slam Series of cases are purely focused just on drop protection.  Lifeproof’s Flip Wallet Cases are a new style of wallet case from this company, Lifeproof, the Flip Wallet cases were introduced with the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max Lifeproof range.

Lifeproof Fre Case

The LifeProof Fre case comes with an integrated front-screen protector and more seals for waterproof protection of up to two meters for an hour. Should you take your iPhone to the beach or the pool or to snowy mountains during the winter this could be the case for you. Do you spend a lot of your outdoor life in the rain? Do you need full protection for your iPhone? If the answers are yes then you should consider Lifeproof’s Fre cases.

The LifeProof Fre comes in a wide range of colour schemes, from traditional black to bright yellow, pink, blue, there is sure to be a colour for you.

Fre’s interior O-ring seals, and front plastic cover also increase the dust and water resistance to IP68 and this also includes MIL-STD 810G (military standard) drop protection.

Previously these style of case that has an integrated plastic screen protector seemed to compromise the touch screen usability at some level. These newer cases have been improved and users do not experience any issues with their ability to perform tasks with touch or use Face Unlock.  LifeProof has done a delightful job with the case design.

The Fre case has a clear window on the back for the Apple logo, which is nice. The Lightning port opening is large enough for all Lightning cables.

Wireless charging and Apple Pay work perfectly fine with your iPhones in the Fre case. You will not see any impact on the camera performance with your phone in this case.

It really is great to see that LifeProof provide such high levels of protection in a case that does not making the case. One reason a lot of people enjoy the iPhone is the small size of the phone. With LifeProof’s Fre case installed, your phone will be slightly larger but still very manageable, and your iPhone is much better protected when you take it out into the elements.

Folio: Lifeproof Flip Series  Cases

The heavy duty Flip Wallet case from LifeProof is not your typical folio style of case. Yes there’s a wallet flap, but it does not close over the screen like other wallet folio cases do.

The LifeProof Flip Wallet case is a bulky, heavy-duty case. And as the company Lifeproof is well known for their highly protective cases protection will always to take precedence over looks with their cases.

The Flip Series case is a new iPhone case and is currently only available for the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max. The cases are available in three colourss, Dark Night which is a black/grey coloured case, Cement Surfer, this is a blue/slate coloured unit and Water Lily which has light blue/green colouring. Lifeproof’s slogan for the case is “Stashable. Crashable.”

Rather than the typical wallet case mechanism that you may expect, the Flip case is endowed with a thick back section that flips open and is held closed via a magnet. The case’s fabric flap comes with three card slots, as well as another longer slot behind these card slots for cash. You cannot to overfill this flap, or it will not hold shut properly.

With only three cards, it does seem full but the magnet does hold. There’s a decent large space between the slots and the back of the iPhone.

The flap has been built with a large cutout to for the camera module. And you can even flip the flap all the way around and then use it as a kickstand when watching videos. This functions very well at a large variety of angles.

Budget: Lifeproof Slam Series Case

LifeProof Slam is LifeProof’s cheapest case option and it is a slim case and has a drop rating to two metres (6.6ft). The Slam case is one of the toughest cases that also lets you to showcase the colour of your iPhone as the case is clear with colouring around the sides. Slam is focused just on drop protection.
Although not being the tank like armour that LifeProof is well known for. Slam is still a very protective case. It is not as bulky as many heavy duty cases are. Slam strikes a great balance between protection and bulk. The LifeProof Slam feels solid and does feel like it could take quite a hit. As mentioned above the clear back is a nice design feature that shows off the colour of your iPhone.

Lifeproof Next Case

The Next Series case is the mid-level case in the LifeProof range and Next is designed to be dropproof, dirtproof, and snowproof.

The case has of two pieces that fit tightly together to seal in your iPhone. The back of the case is composed of a rigid clear plastic that goes to the four sides and this holds your iPhone in place.

The front piece of the case features clear plastic and has a coloured softer material that fits over the top of the iPhone. Place your iPhone into the back piece and this top part then snaps into place. Ensure that you go around every edge and you should hear quite a lot of clicking as the front locks in place.

There is a good choice of colours for the coloured section. They are currently available in black, gray, mint, and pink.

On the case is a small toggle for the ringer switch and there is raised buttons for the volume. The right side button comes with a door that covers the Lightning charging port.

There is no cover on the front of the Next case, again if you need to protect the phone’s screen, then look at the Fre case or use the Next case and a a tempered glass screen guard.

The iPhone comes with an IP67 water and dust resistance rating so you could drop an iPhone in this case in the water, but try to avoid doing this.
